The singers of BCS rehearse each Tuesday night (late August—April) from 7-9:30pm, with additional orchestra rehearsals as concert dates draw near.

Founded in 1970 as a small group of singers who shared a common passion for exploring the rich repertoire of choral music, the group has grown steadily, both artistically and organizationally.

Auditions for new singers, subject to available openings in each section, are held at the beginning of each season. Interested singers should check our Auditions page in late July or early August for more information and to make an audition appointment. Singers interested in auditioning should have demonstrated experience in choral groups, have sung repertoire in a variety of languages in addition to English (typically Latin, German, and/or French), be able to follow a choral score, and be able to read a simple chorale or hymn. In addition, singers should be familiar with the basics of vocal production and techniques of singing in a choral ensemble. Singers are encouraged to bring a prepared piece to sing, although that is not required; an accompanist will be provided.

In the meantime, feel free to watch and listen to a few samples from our recent performances, all recorded live in concert, and found on our YouTube channel.

We now have about 40-45 members, diverse in many ways, but united through a passion for great choral music. Singers range from students to retirees. Many members are music professionals or have studied voice, but many others simply sing for fun. Joy and laughter permeate our rehearsals. Members hone their craft, and out of dedication to choral performance, offer operational and financial support to the organization.
